Las Vegas-area artists are encouraged to submit their original artwork by April 10 to be considered for selection as the official poster artist for the 2017 Vegas Valley Comic Book Festival. The selected artist’s image will be used on all advertisements, fliers and web banners to promote this year’s event. The artwork should represent the festival’s theme of “celebrating the illustrated word,” the celebration of VVCBF’s 10th anniversary, and incorporate our Las Vegas location in some way. The selected artist will receive an honorarium of $250, two VIP festival packages, and a featured bio on the VVCBF website. Click here for full guidelines and a submission form.
The Vegas Valley Comic Book Festival will be returning for its landmark 10th year to the Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road, on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., offering a full day of free programming for all ages, including workshops, film screenings, musical performances, arts & crafts, and much more.
Produced by the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District, the VVCBF provides fans a place to share and indulge in their love of comic books, sci-fi, fantasy and pop culture. In addition to attendees being able to peruse comics, toys and other merchandise at the many vendor booths in a courtyard marketplace, they can also meet artists, writers and independent publishers in Artist Alley. Family-friendly activities abound at the festival, including craft making, face painting, and the return of our popular Art Jam.
